The Edge of Space-Time is a book for everyone. I barely remember my high school science classes, but I was able to understand & care about everything in this book thanks to Chanda's clear writing. I was also completely riveted—I would finish my edits on it for the day and then keep talking about it.

It's probably ok to tease that the Langston Hughes theme continues with #EdgeOfSpaceTime 🥰
The subtitle, "A Journey into Dark Matter, Spacetime, and Dreams Deferred" contains a reference to a collection of Langston Hughes poems, "Montage of a Dream Deferred." The book is actually full of Hughes references, and that's just the first one. I knew fellow Black folks would recognize it.

I'm putting the final touches on my second book #EdgeOfSpaceTime and the entire book is an argument for #cosmology and #particlephysics through #poetry. Part of what we can do in #scicomm is make those connections for people. Those connections are powerful & motivating for people, esp in hard times.
