We had a 2020 2.0L EcoBoost and it would in fact scoot. And *almost* fun on a twisty road.

V6 Performance was the first car I ever drove on a track. Fun car, but I was really not experienced enough to say much else about it TBH. Drove an EcoBoost there years later, liked it more but probably bc I was just a much more experienced driver by then.

It’s an incredibly rare combo as you can’t get EcoBoost on LWB passenger models and basically nobody bought SWB passenger models. I have the liftgate, as do most (but not all!) passenger models (wagons, in Ford-speak). Base XLT with EcoBoost, Sync, and OEM 17” wheel upgrade and nothing else.

Ford should've kept the Ecoboost i4 Mustang at the lower market rather than pushing it up and instead used the 2.7L/3.0L twin turbo V6 as the mid market model and leaned into it being more of a scalpel while the V8 stays as the carving knife of the lineup.

Doing this would further have the benefit of positioning it as it's own thing rather than the 'base spec' it is currently. Lots of folks overlook the Ecoboost Mustang but if it had a toyota/mazda/honda/nissan badge it would have a huge following.
