During our Doctoral colloquium, we met talented PhD students who shared insights on AI-Powered Access to Environmental Information, Critical Raw Materials for Digital Sovereignty, and the Impact of Big Data and AI on the Spanish Tax Agency #EMILDAISUMMERSCHOOL2025

Day 3 of #EMILDAISUMMERSCHOOL2025 ended with our prize ceremony, congratulations to our awardees: Oscar Josafat Leyva Ferzuli (Best presentation - Law), Hichem Semmar (Best presentation - computing), Meem Arafat Manab and Nauani Benevides (Honour award: Blog Editors 24/25)

We are starting the conference part of our #EMILDAISUMMERSCHOOL2025 with our first panel on Sovereignty aspects with a discussion encompassing the energy sector, financial sector, and health data.

After a well deserved break, we started the Master Colloquim with Part 1, including topics covering Constitutionalising Mass Surveillance through European Courts, Trading Privacy for “Security”, Personal vs State Security: To encrypt or to lay bare? #EMILDAISUMMERSCHOOL2025

Our fourth and last themed panel on Technical aspects has shown presentations on AI techniques and models for the detection of malicious attacks on communication networks, Cybersecurity in Robotics, and Securing societies in the digital age #EMILDAISUMMERSCHOOL2025

Finally, we finished with the second part of our Master Colloquium discussing The EU’s Influence on Digital Sovereignty in the Western Balkans, Rebalancing Material Extraction and Epistemic Sovereignty, and Navigating the Structure for Better Military AI Governance #emildaisummerschool2025

Our second panel of #EMILDAISUMMERSCHOOL2025 on democratic aspects saw works on the role of Innovative Procurement in the Development of Collaborative Cybersecurity, Electoral cybersecurity from the perspective of the Venice Commission, and AI and democratic processes
