#ECOWAS
Sharing this again because this is just so spot on. I had hoped that even regional orgs might be taking things seriously with ECOWAS intervention into the Gambia, but with South Africa being slow off the mark in Cabo Delgado and no one saying a word about Sudan it seems we are back at no coordiation

ECOWAS Warns Africa Now Global Terrorism Hub, Pushes Reform of Traditional Islamic Schools
The Economic Community of West African States has called for the modernisation of traditional Islamic schools to tackle the surging scourge of terrorism and violent extremism across the sub-region. President of the ECOWAS Commission, Omar Touray, made the appeal on Thursday in Abuja at the West African Islamic Conference on Security and Governance. According to him, modernising and protecting the schools, students, and teachers will end the street begging phenomenon, child abuse, and children’s vulnerability to radicalisation and recruitment by extremist and terrorist groups.

What exactly do they think kneecapping one of the driving forces behind ECOWAS is going to do for the Sahel Alliance? Esp after you already torched your reputation laundering soft power machine (USAID) all over that continent... Y'all are doing their work for them. Doing BRICS' work for them. 1/3
I'm guessing (/hoping/praying) that this is just another passing fixation for these people. but just in case let me just say that an invasion of Nigeria would be a colossal waste of time and lives even by the standards of the present administration
