When you’re ultra wealthy you can

1) avoid dividends & cap gains realization by reinvesting profit in owned firms

2) then use holding companies or take out loans using shares as collateral to fund lavish lifestyle and invest in more ventures, avoiding income taxation

Have them give the money back to the government as “dividends” and then act like it’s revenue to federal budget.

We knew this already, but Kommersant is laying it out
‼️“…And voila—shareholders received 276 billion rubles (without any loss to the bank's capital), most of which went to the state budget.”

Testing weapons on civilian populations pays dividends for Israel

If you support Israel
You are SICK

IF you buy these weapons you are DEPRAVED
“ We obtained audio from a major weapons conference in Tel Aviv earlier this month

Far from being chastened by the backlash to genocide, Israeli arms companies are seeing booming sales by boasting that their weapons are tested live on Palestinians” via @Drop Site News

Kill stock buybacks, for a start, then all that has to come as dividends, which are taxable income.

I know how difficult it is to win in North Carolina, and how hard we’ll have to work to flip this seat.

I also know that early investment goes further and can make all the difference in a race that will be so close. Every dollar we raise now will pay dividends come Election Day.

I know that’s how I work — do a thing, hope it really pays dividends six years later
You know how sometimes people will make sensationalist claims to the FBI for the fame and clout of them coming out six years later in a report no one was sure would ever be publicly available
* DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE: SOME DOCUMENTS RELEASED CONTAIN UNTRUE AND SENSATIONALIST CLAIMS MADE AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP THAT WERE SUBMITTED TO THE FBI RIGHT BEFORE 2020 ELECTION

* DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE: TO BE CLEAR CLAIMS AGAINST TRUMP ARE UNFOUNDED AND FALSE

That’s because back in the 1980s, the USSR landed its crown jewel, Agent Krasnov, the single best return on investment the CCCP ever made, still paying dividends decades after the Hammer & Sickle came down.

For-profit health insurance companies add NO VALUE to our healthcare delivery system.
They skim off 15-20% of all your premiums-paid for profit, dividends, jet planes, and stock buybacks.
It's basically just some slick creep getting between you and your doctor.

When the effort is made to connect human to human, it pays dividends down the road. and it doesn't always just mean exchanging pleasantries either! Show interest in what people are doing. Genuinely. When you are in the know with what they are doing, you get to share in those successes.

Since the banks crashed the economy real wages are down by £11,000. And yet Labour’s Budget chose to tax workers. Instead of a real wealth tax, the Budget’s taxes on dividends and expensive properties will raise just a fraction of the amount being taken in new taxes from workers. ⤵️

This was the whole point of Virginia Woolf's essay A Room of One's Own. There are few works of art by women because only wealthy men could afford to be idle enough to create works of art. You needed a room of your own and subsistence paid for by rent from others or dividends or a big bank account.

Make constituent services great again. Tammany was corrupt and bad in a lot of ways, but people knew their ward bosses and knew they could go there for tangible assistance if necessary.

Don't bring back spoils patronage but materially improving constituents' lives, in small ways, pays dividends.

If you invested $10,000 in Nike $NKE exactly 5 years ago, you'd have $4,378 today (dividends included) 🚨 Not too bad

Left philanthropic dollars seem basically allergic to real institution building. Not sure why that is.

Money for smaller mission driven universities/ local news would pay dividends for their priorities by creating a pipeline of talent. Lib civic society expects their foot soldiers to go it alone.

Ireland's oldest Xmas sung text is an antiphon for Xmas Day from the Antiphonary of Bangor (Milan, Biblioteca Ambrosiana, MS C 5 inf), c.690:

From this day on, the night decreases and the day grows, the shadows are shaken and the light spreads, and debts to darkness give way to dividends of light.

Business as usual. So glad the governor and public utilities commission allow PG&E to defer maintenance on above-ground wires, pay those shareholder dividends, and raise those rates to the moon. Outages are so frequent, that I've been shocked mine hasn't gone out.
