I managed to reunite a filmmaker with his first ever film recently through the free of charge digitisation project I’ve been doing.

It's the whole experience imv. Crappy transport to the airport. Lack of digitisation of everything, from air traffic control to passport checks. Airlines that face no penalty for cancelling flights, so they do it regularly. Harrassed and bad-tempered staff.

It also does little to preserve the digital files. They're not being maintained and can degrade, or become inaccessible due to format.
Digitisation is wonderful for access. Unfortunately, those files on a USB stick somewhere aren't going to be easily searchable or accessible.

Currently doing some marking. A reminder to everyone involved in archives and collections: digitisation is not preservation. If I digitise a box of records and put the files on a USB stick I haven't preserved a thing. It's all about what you do with the files post-digitisation. #archives #digipres

It was made by Thomas Fattorini Ltd in 1975 but they don’t have records going back before digitisation to ID it. They reckon it was maybe a 25 years service badge for De Havilland but I’ve done an image search and can’t find anything similar! Am v interested to know if anyone else has an idea?

Delhi govt launches ‘School Web App’: Can it truly drive the digitisation of education? – The Times of India
A quiet revolution began in the capital on Friday with the launch of the School Web App, a digital platform set to transform how schools function and how education is experienced. Introduced by Education Minister Ashish Sood, the initiative integrates academic, administrative, and communication processes into one digital space, giving students, parents, and teachers seamless access to all school-related services. The app aligns with the broader Digital India and Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, which prioritises technology-driven governance and inclusive growth. With its promise of real-time data, paperless administration, and greater accountability, the platform aims to replace outdated systems with a more agile, transparent, and connected model of education management.
