I can't quite believe my reconstruction of East Lomond Hillfort is ten years old already. Where has all the time gone? It was a lovely project to work on with the late Dr Oliver O'Grady. #HillfortsWednesday #DigitalReconstruction

Archaeologists recovered 22 blocks from the Lighthouse of Alexandria, an ancient wonder. Using 3D scans, researchers aim to digitally reconstruct it, shedding light on its design and collapse. The blocks were found in the harbor off Alexandria.

I have slightly wrong scaling of the figures in this bronze age diorama (thanks to Peter Yeoman for pointing it out), but this was a fun little personal study inspired by my trip to our most northerly isles last year. #DigitalReconstruction #Blender3D

Just a visual reminder that most of the ancient dark bronze sculptures that we see in museums were once polished and bright. Some, of course, were actually gilded and would have been far more 'blingy'. And, of course, they would have had stone and glass eyes. 🏺 #ancientbluesky #digitalreconstruction
I did a project a couple of years back to help people see how some of these bronze sculptures may have looked when new, using the sculpture of Livia from the Herculaneum theater. Polished, golden-toned, and with the eyes restored (I used blue stone or glass here, but they could have been dark).
