#Descriptive
Let me just add: If Nick Sousanis, who draws the most intricate and detailed works of the intellect I have ever seen on the page, can write descriptive alt text, you can bloody well describe your snapshots.
What makes stars live/how they die - redux. Because I can't leave well enough alone. Reworked upper R side from early thumbnails - then still couldn't make it work. Kept a few elements from the attempt into final(?) version. Suspect I may never be quite satisfied with this... #Nostos #Unflattening 2

Well they only respect positions of power. That’s the only ‘evidence’ they will accept, to validate your credibility in a debate.

Another apt descriptive picture would have been Homer Simpson throttling Bart.

This is heartbreaking. What is happening in OUR country???
God help us. It has to stop. And these evil idiots (I was going to use a much more descriptive word) must be stopped and sent to jail for a very long time.

Exactly - it's fine for what it is (a report from DoorDash orders over time) but hardly descriptive of the economy as a whole.

The sign on the wall behind her is more descriptive if you take the 'o' out of count.

Crónica de una Muerte Anunciada. Gabo’s prose is so lush and descriptive of the town, their inhabitants, the occurrences. It’s a puzzle and each word paints a day in beautiful and horrifying detail.

Funny enough, someone shared this book makes them feel hopeful.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

This is the most descriptive and thorough way to call someone a Philistine and I am breathless.

I have given myself the ick because my style of descriptive writing is starting to sound an awful lot like clanker-speak. I just like to avoid contractions. It helps me express myself clearer.
I can do it if needed though. Observe.

Already seen him in replies yakking on his usual BS . Bluesky can ban users for slur use right, and I've expressed this to him pretty descriptive multiple times. And what does he do first few replies of the new account , this guy literally doesn't learn ever LOL . Not even a smart troll

To be clear, what I said was descriptive, not normative! :)

@svetovid.bsky.social G'day Svetovid. The commentary on armour (apart from Trent Telenko) regarding Ukraine's self-defence has been descriptive lacking insight. Could be due to the piecemeal nature of usage - induction is the enemy of good data. Any professionals views you recommend? Thank you.

the linguistic trap of assuming labels are prescriptive components of personhood rather than descriptive endlessly bugs me. far to often you'll see "i can't do [X thing that i am capable of doing] because i am [Y label]" without consideration for the fact that the self is a process of refinement.

Although i'm all for descriptive likes of everyone, it opens a lot of doors for authentication answers for hackers.
Good to see good pens in there, though

language is descriptive, not prescriptive

Communism is theoretical.

The CCP in China as an example haven't created a communist society, it's called "socialism with Chinese characteristics". The party being called "communist" is aspirational, not present-tense descriptive. And tbh there's a LOT of capitalism in China today.

They carefully documented customs, revenge, hospitality, family protection, modesty, and showed how honor organized social life. It was brilliant work, but descriptive. It treated honor as a cultural practice, not a psychological process.
