That's if you take this at face value, which I don't.
Shapiro's just full of shit.

✅ Create Context outside components to prevent bugs.
✅ Create Context with a valid default value (or null) to safely handle cases where a child component is rendered outside a provider.
✅ Use React Context when prop drilling leads to complex code or reduces efficiency.

"Sold!" used to mean "Great idea! Count me in."
... which makes sense if their default view of markets is speculative, not value-generating.
We are so cooked.

Like it's a sin or something to wake up from the factory default settings and stand for what you believe in.
I like to remind them "You told me not to believe the internet, now it tells you what to think? No."

You can’t reclaim what you’ve never been taught to value.
Learning is not an intellectual exercise it’s unlearning domination as your default. It’s expanding beyond competition, control, and avoidance. It’s understanding the cost of the systems you benefit from...

At the same time, imo in these perf-chasing cases, parts of the language drag it down /∆\
Would love a value-based lang with C#'s overall ergonomics (and tooling!!!). No nullables, managed allocs as default, etc

Because that type of speculation keeping an unprofitable enterprise afloat works by destroying the other options, leaving that one support solution the winner by default.
It's "salt-the-earth" speculation.

Most logical use would be number related:
- next weekday (modulo calc in general)
- tuple of numbers with specific increment logic (version nr)
- next random number
A bit more abusive:
- add an instance to a collection with default constructor/value
- trigger a (simple) event
