…simply encode the default dialnorm value, because this triggers a safe harbor provision in the CALM act regulation. Dialogue anchoring and dialnorm is in the ATSC standard but network QC doesn’t often tolerate it and it’s much misunderstood.

It could have worked with self.x too, in which case, the class value would have been used at default for read (read goes deep), but the write would have been on the instance (write stays shallow).

For the demo of #THDAWT, I decided to disable the random drift offset for the pillar lifts in the living room dream. This means that you can't accidentally save/load *inside* a moving pillar anymore because it can't randomly start higher than its default Z value. Hooray! #gamedev

Using `>` to redirect to a file is an alias for `| Out-File $path` and on WinPS the default encoding here was UTF-16/Unicode. Pwsh 7 now defaults to a BOM-less UTF-8. You can use $PSDefaultParameterValues to change > on WinPS
