For #Fineart #artists using #acrylagouache can anyone please tell me if it's worth the fuzz; bc to me it looks like matt acrylic. wich is why most artist I know tried normal gouache. I have usual #Decoart #Americana acyllics, they look same to me, just bit more fluid. Help me out here? 1/2

Then applied a black wash where there should be shadows and a sepia wash everywhere else. Only details such a shackles, chains, and other minor details as remain. Third session: applied Liquitex Basics Acrylics neutral gray 5 to foundational, support, and random stones. Painted random stones different colors: Liquitex Basics Acrylics Payne’s gray, burnt umber, raw umber; Liquitex Basics Acrylic Fluid unbleached titanium; and DecoArt Americana cinnamon stick, fawn, and spiced pumpkin. (Can’t use the good stuff for terrain!) Second session: mixed some paints to make a tan, which was thinned with water to be semi-transparent (mixed Liquitex Basics Acrylics: titanium white, Payne’s gray, burnt sienna, and raw sienna). Painted the exterior wood rafters and the top of the entrance to the tower. Donatello project update: Time to get that paper off and put some detail work in.

I seal the entire LPS with watered-down matte Mod Podge, then use a DecoArt gloss sealant for the eyes and nose (either the regular polyurethane gloss sealant, or the triple thick if I have some— it’s not always available)

I just use dollar store acrylics (DecoArt), but I water them down significantly. That way the layers are very thin, and don’t hold on to brush strokes so easily! I also use veeeery small brushes (even nail art brushes for the extremely tiny details!)

Thank you! I tried to achieve the look purely with paint. For the carpet I used Liquitex Ceramic Stucco as a texture medium, and for the matt, carpet-like blue I chose Victoria Blue from DecoArt Americana Acrylics.

Testing decoart duraclear ultra matte acrylic varnish as an alternative that I can use with an airbrush on an old gramps I used for handbrushing practice. The results weren't bad, but I wonder what other gunpla people think...

It's all good. The last batch I looked into were acrylics. They were Really nice metallics from FolkArt & DecoArt that I found when I was scooping some color shifting paints.

They both ended up looking more like a bright gold than brass. Perfect for other stuff but not quite a color match.
