TFW that example you used in your #DataSittersClub book on copyright for something that's only feasible for the rights holder to do... Now exists because the original author did copyright clawback on her original contract and she's making it happen.
The Baby-Sitters Club Book Series Being Adapted As Stage Musical With ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ Songwriter On Board
The musical will feature a book by Kate Wetherhead, music and lyrics by Mark Sonnenblick and direction and choreography by Annie Tippe.

Fun fact: the Baby-Sitters Club books have had very little editing to keep up with slang or technology (tiny things in the first handful of books, then nothing) but switching out "thongs" in reference to footwar was one of those changes. #DataSittersClub

"Dawn on the Coast" is a weird BSC book and not for everyone, and we know this one won't be, too. But we'll have a little survey about AI & DH at the end for your feedback!

This memoir through text analysis was a delightful public transit read today. I could weigh in on some of the pieces (especially sentiment analysis), but despite the different subject matter, it feels like there's a kinship with the #DataSittersClub here. 🥰
(cont.) because as someone who did a #DH memoir project last year, I’m thinking a lot about audience for my 2025 project (I’m writing to people, but I’m not?) as well as how intentionally creating “my papers” (in an archive sense) impacts what I write about. #DHmakes

Riffing on the multilingual, the #DataSittersClub corpora come to mind. I've got pretty big Italian and French translation sets along with the English. Not sure what the question would be (literary information retrieval something?) but could make an interesting DSC book to explain this.

My great-grandfather, a geography professor, wrote popular press books about the geography of Europe to help people understand the news better during WWII.
Sometimes I think about how that echoes with what we do with the #DataSittersClub.

Definitely going to need to tackle BookNLP for a future #DataSittersClub, including what to expect in terms of data cleanup/normalization to get good results. A personal narrative that references family members named (in part) after one another is hard mode, w/ false clustering across generations. 🫠

Yikes! When we did the #DataSittersClub HathiTrust Mistake, we just meant it was hard to use and was missing the kinds of materials we were looking for (other middle grade/YA). Was planning to give our BSC books in translation to UofI to include in Hathi but maybe we need a new plan with this news.
