"Don't stigmatize l addicts" centers the addict, which is fine when you're treating them, but it's awful when you're talking about the personal and social consequences of their addiction. Once it affects others, damnright it should be stigmatized.
There certainly has to be a way to say we shouldn’t stigmatize people seeking treatment while also recognizing that drugs can and often do cause bad behaviors.
