Already a measles outbreak in the Toronto Area, 2 days after kids went back to school

Pls get the MMR vaxx & wear a mask for the best protection

Respirator masks (especially N95s) protect against any airborne virus, including measles & COVID

COVID cases are also ⬆️

Protected from airborne viruses while going for a walk & repping some of my faves 🤩

Outdoors is lower risk but not zero risk

COVID 🦠 moves like smoke 💨

Protect yourself outside especially in crowded areas 😷

Surge will ⬆️ as kids are back at school

COVID minimizers like to say “you’ve changed” or “you’ve made COVID your identity” 🤡

But we’re simply living according to our values

Values we’ve had YEARS before the *ongoing* pandemic

We’re just more aware than most ppl about the impact that SARS-CoV-2 has on marginalized groups

#COVIDinformed
In 2020, some people got pushed further to the right

Some further to the left

But I’ve always cared ab believing in science😷

I’ve always cared ab marginalized people, including disabled / #immunocompromised / chronically ill ppl

Everyone deserves to exist safely

Everyone deserves to be included

I hesitate to post this because it screams health privilege

But I think we need to talk about what's possible if we truly tried to prevent the spread of airborne disease

This has been my latest DIY project on #CleanAir and #CovidInformed approach to public spaces

How to make the ViraWarn useful in public spaces
What if you could easily and subtly detect covid-19 in any space you walked into?

Some troll on here was claiming that #CovidInformed people are agoraphobic and their lives are "train wrecks".
Then asked me if I eat indoors.
Anyway, here's me NOT eating indoors on my lunch break.

I'm more #CovidInformed than 95% of the US population (based on Pew Research on masking habit), BUT not everything is Covid!
There's a lot of overlap, in prevention and mitigation, but we need to address the other problems like climate change, behavioral issues, etc.

If you’re #COVIDinformed and you frequently wear N95 masks, you’re also protecting yourself from wildfire smoke

Another reason to wear them outdoors

They also protect against flying insects going in your mouth & nose 👍
Mainstream media reporting on wildfire smoke, but not mentioning N95 masks 🤡

Ridiculous that when you’re pro-mask, some people are quick to say you’re anti-vaxx

Most of us in the #COVIDinformed & #AirborneAware community have gotten multiple doses of the COVID vaccine (at least more than 3, but often more than that), the yearly flu shot + all the other recommended vaccines

Not going to reply to ridiculous posts anymore that waste my time

Actual #COVIDinformed & #AirborneAware people wear a mask in public spaces because we know that a respirator mask (KN95 or better) is another layer that adds to protection from the most up to date vaccine (for ANY airborne virus)

COVID informed people ARE living our lives

We’re just not behaving or making decisions like the government or the rest of society want us to

They want us to 🙈🙉🙊 just like them

What the term “COVID” means to most people:

Lockdowns and masks

What the term “COVID” means to #COVIDinformed people:

An infectious disease which is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus

Layered protection is most effective: 2 doses of the MMR vaccine, a mask, and HEPA filtration (air purifier)

I’m going to LOSE MY EVER-LOVING MIND WITH UNEDUCATED PHARMACISTS AND DOCTORS. I had to BEG my mom to go get the Novavax before this batch expires, on March 31, and this pharmacist told her NOT TO GET IT BECAUSE IT IS EXPIRING SOON? ARE YOU JOKING?!

Glad my account is reaching more people!

Found out today I got added to another starter pack & one of my skeets had engagement with 2 well-known accounts

Grateful for Bluesky & the #COVIDinformed / #COVIDcompetent community 😷

It’s been great connecting with everyone & hearing your experiences 🤗

This accurately describes how a lot of #COVIDinformed / #immunocompromised people feel

What #COVIDinformed and #AirborneAware mean to me (they are NOT interchangeable):

“COVID informed” is a reminder that the pandemic is *ongoing”

It’s also a reminder that COVID has disproportionately affected marginalized groups

BIPOC people, people of low or no income, immunocompromised ppl

#AirborneAware & #COVIDinformed or COVID conscious / cautious / competent are terms we use to describe our community

But I don’t see Airborne Aware as a replacement

It’s a useful term to complement those that emphasize “COVID”, a reminder of the ongoing pandemic, its effects on marginalized groups
With COVID, we saw how it disproportionately affected BIPOC people, people of low or no income, and disabled / immunocompromised / chronically ill people

The term “COVID” is a reminder of that

It’s a reminder of the *ongoing* pandemic and how it affects those most vulnerable & marginalized

#COVIDinformed für #TeamVorsicht finde ich gut. Wir hatten ja schon ähnliche Überlegungen mit #TeamVernunft.
