Yeah I've tried it on computers of all types, 386s and 486s with the original AT cable, Windows XP computer with a PS/2 port, and over USB on my main PC. It behaves the same on them all. If the controller is broken that would be a major problem cause I don't know how I would replace it.

If natural gas was unlimited and climate change wasn't an issue it really is the ideal power source (behind hydro). Build a bunch of power plants, hook up to the grid. Few *things* to manage, can probably run stuff without computers.

Most importantly it can avoid triggering NIMBYs.

Absolutely NOTHING made me realise how skilled I really am with computers like working outside of academia.
I felt like a fumbling toddler there. Here I am a wizard of great power to be feared and bribed for favour.
by the standards of real nerds I'm only "aw he's trying" at computers but by the standards of my coworkers in healthcare I am a god among men

my secret trick is to read the instructions on the screen and do what they say

This is the wrong question. What is needed are measures for what we, as a society or industry etc. want to define as ascribed to machine “intelligence” specifically. Computers can do amazing things but are also poor at others. See Moravec’s Paradox.

3. Almost all the exposed Epstein clients are the ones who are at the helm of business world, at the top of political positions, the ones who gave you computers and technology like Bill Gates of Microporn, do you still wonder why the world around is as it is being exposed to be?

Always been committed to folks with old computers.

Loads fast and still loads on Netscape lol

Oh, you think all computers are binary and digital, now I see the disconnect. Not all computers are digital. They can be analog. They can be quantum. There are cool examples of things like DNA based and cell based computation. “Computer” is a generic term meaning information processing system.

Easy. Add more enemy numbers. `rage`, `defense`, `eyesight`, `constipation`, `phd_theses_submitted`, ... you can always add more numbers computers can handle it

Interesting.

Do human brains break down all data, visual and otherwise, into bianary like computers do?
December 19, 2025 at 9:16 PM
That’s a rant and a half. 😂 Data 70 is the OG «we need a typeface that screams computers» from back in the day, but since it is iconic there are hundreds of lookalikes.

Welcome to another rabbit hole.

Can’t help but thinking that Halt and Catch Fire’s name was a bit of a disservice to why it didn’t resonate with audiences. Maybe Command Line would’ve worked better? Taking command of your life, early computers, GUI, etc.

three journalists all on the phone together on different computers trying to get in like, "What number are you?? If you get in first i'll give you my credit card! Go!"

One of my IT coworkers just decided to make some random organization-wide changes to our browser themes and bookmarks then was super perplexed when me and the one other IT guy who knows anything about computers were immediately like "DID SOMEONE CHANGE SOMETHING OR DO I NEED TO SHOOT MY COMPUTER"

Gen Z doesn't know how to use computers and I think that is funny.

"So now you want to save your work, hit the save icon."

Ohmygods, these cops don't know how to use computers. AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY DUE TO THEIR AGE.
They were training new cops the entire time.

My SO just surprised me. Apparently for the last few months he's been scavenging pieces from old computers to rebuild mine so we can start gaming together again. #DDO & #SWL will be up first. Hopefully my hands can handle it.

I don't even like it at all. I supposed there are uses for it, but not for me. They've injected onto our phones, into our computers literally making some sites I used to use a lot and like a lot, completely useless.
I'm trying to find a way to delete it off my computer.
Amazon is reportedly in talks to invest at least $10 billion in OpenAI — a few weeks after OpenAI committed to buying $38 billion worth of capacity from Amazon Web Services.

@flowerhorne.com hope it’s ok to ask directly - couldn’t reply to your comment about passkeys (prob so the other person wouldn’t get tagged). I'm pretty good w computers but have not found a good explanation for how passkeys work. How to use w accounts where you need to log on with 2+ devices? Halp!
