#Clyburn
Case in point. How white leftists and progressives DRAGGED Jim Clyburn because Bernie did so shitty in the SC primary. Jim Clyburn did things that no white leftist could ever imagine in the DEEP SOUTH during Jim Crow and Civil Rights

I think the best outcome is for Schumer to simply say he won't run for leadership in the next Congress, similar to how Pelosi, Clyburn, etc., stepped back after 2022.

Jim Clyburn on msnbc this morning saying he's seen "instances" when the base of the Dem party "has not received the attention that it needs"
November 11, 2025 at 2:27 PM
I don't think New York Media Types fully get how ghastly Cuomo's run looked from the outside. The man resigned in disgrace and came off, relentlessly, as an obnoxious dipshit, and the spectacle of people like Clinton and Clyburn praising a guy past retirement age as "the future" was grotesque.

No, they’re not.
They’re “progressives.”
As soon as Biden won SC, Black voters who didn’t vote for Bernie became “low info” voters that were easily influenced to vote against their interest because of Clyburn’s endorsement.
They also called John Lewis & Clyburn “Uncle Toms” for endorsing Biden.
November 9, 2025 at 12:36 AM
They won't acknowledge that we're the base & rather than try to attract us, which is the only way a candidate can win the primary, they dismiss us as "low info voters," insult civil rights leaders who don't support Bernie like they did with Clyburn & Lewis in 2020, then cry "RIGGED" when they lose.
November 8, 2025 at 2:14 PM
Bill Clinton and Jim Clyburn should be told to fuck off forever
November 5, 2025 at 11:22 PM
Hasan Piker isn't a conservative & this is what he had to say about Black people not supporting Bernie in 2020.
He even praised Candace Owens so he could insult Black people who vote for the Democrats.
These aren't conservatives referring to Jim Clyburn & John Lewis as "Uncle Toms."

remember when they had Bill Clinton and Jim Clyburn endorse Cuomo lol

clyburn is doing even less than all this to have somebody take his place. feinstein certainly didn't have any plans in mind to carry on her project, power, it's just "i'm here till i die" and then she died.

If we think others should follow Pelosi's lead to retirement from Congress there are 6 others members serving now who are older than her:

- Chuck Grassley (R-IA) 92
- Eleanor Norton (D-DC) 88
- Hal Rogers (R-KY) 87
- Maxine Waters (D-CA) 87
- Steny Hoyer (D-MD) 86
- Jim Clyburn (D-SC) 85

Same thinking that saw Clyburn being framed as a civil rights leader and voice of Black America rather than someone who’s really talented at politics in South Carolina.
November 4, 2025 at 6:15 PM
That's great news. Now, get rid of Chuck Grassley, Steny Hoyer, Jim Clyburn and ANY other person in Congress over 67 (retirement!)
November 6, 2025 at 3:10 PM
The simple fact is that Newsom is going to flame out in the primaries when he’s caught putting ketchup on a corn dog or calls Ohio “the Hawkeye State” or pisses off Clyburn, but we have to hear about him now.
November 5, 2025 at 5:23 PM
It’s implying that white people are at fault.

It draws an extra line of conflict to leverage unrelated policy agendas.

Ask Jim Clyburn
November 5, 2025 at 9:10 PM
NP.
I remember as soon as Biden started to win the states with higher percentages of Black voters in the 2020 primary that BernieBros who were watching their guy get obliterated started blaming "low info Black voters" (Their words, NOT mine) who all took their cues from "Uncle Toms" Clyburn & Lewis.
November 9, 2025 at 1:20 AM
Yes and Pelosi mentored Jeffries, Clyburn mentored Neguse...

The old guard did what so many claim they didn't.
Younger members have to be open to that mentorship. If all they want to do is get on msnbc then you don't get to blame senior leaders for not giving them a chance.

1/2 Nevertheless there are still significant barriers for a pathway for progressivism within the Democratic Party. Hakeem Jeffries, Steny Hoyer, Jim Clyburn, & DCCC still have their fingers on the scale for the House. Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, & DSCC serve the same purpose in the Senate.

Republicans in South Carolina are moving to redraw the map that’s kept James Clyburn in Congress for 30 years—an effort that could erase the state’s only Black-led district as courts test the Voting Rights Act.

She also blocked Jasmine Crockett out of a chair committee too.

I'm glad she's retiring. Hopefully, Jim Clyburn, Steny Hoyer, Debbie Dingell and other Senate & House elders follow behind her. The Dems need new blood and fighters.

I started Day 9 of the Virginia Votes Bus Tour with Congressman Jim Clyburn at St. Paul’s Church in Henrico County!

Thank you to Reverend Dr. Watson for welcoming us to your service this morning.

Only the one you’re trying to forge.

You’re suggesting that older reps have no place in serving constituents.

That’s discrimination.

It’s hate. It’s evil.

You know who’s not switching parties and handing Dem wins to Republicans? Maxine Waters, Steny Hoyer, Al Green, James Clyburn.

Hush.
