In fact, I want to say how impressed I've been with my ISP (Cuckoo) and the infrastructure provider (CityFibre) start to finish. The communication from Cuckoo was clear and (and this is huge) they emailed me to request confirmation that the fault had been sorted before closing the support ticket!

CityFibre contractors have been installing fibre broadband in the village and were working on the telegraph pole outside the house today. Of course our landline has now gone down...

I’ve been waiting for cityfibre to connect to our part of town since the pandemic. We’ve been out of contract with our current provider since 2019, so it’s gotten a bit silly how much we’re paying for 350 when the next street over gets a gig at half the price.

Perfect analogy. Our internet access is mostly a OpenReach monopoly, with Virgin being a very distant second and CityFibre targeting high density areas. Almost all internet providers are using one of those three companies. OpenReach is owned by BT who also own EE
