Was working in Google Sheets and accidentally set up a circular reference, then realized that I wish we had this for our rational thoughts.

A cell for each word and our definition of the word with bright red flags for the crazy amount of circularity in our definitions.

But then Socrates points out that we would have no way of knowing whether we had captured ignorance or knowledge, unless there's a third kind of bird which is the knowledge of how to tell the difference between knowledge and ignorance... which leads to a horrible circularity...

We need a materials revolution in the construction sector—embracing circularity, innovation and cooperation—otherwise its carbon footprint is going to double by 2050, breaching climate goals and endangering our planetary future, say the authors of new Nature paper. @lloydalter.bsky.social
The carbon footprint of construction will double by 2050 and blow the carbon budget.
A new study advocates for a material revolution, but we are held back by structural inertia.

Gansey (word) is derived from Guernsey. Guernsey ( and Jersey) are Norse. Then the Norwegian for jumper is "gense". The "circularity" of that pleases me 😁. Each fishing village had it's own pattern ( to aid identification...) A surprising number on X had old ganseys/ patterns...!

“Circularity” has become a buzzword in artificial-intelligence deals. Some investors have drawn comparisons between the megadeals of today and some excesses of the original dot-com bubble.

I also think this is generally such a cool approach because while recycling is great, reusing is an even shorter step in the process towards circularity and waste reduction.

The entire thing is so frustratingly stupid - British politics is wholly paralysed by this single issue, and it isn’t a particularly important one, yet the constant justification of its importance, in a grim circularity, is that people care about it so much.

There’s also wasting less.

We lose an awful lot of essentially every input and resource just because we can’t be arsed to pay more than the barest attention to efficiency, much less circularity.
The main beneficiaries are the very rich - for them, this waste is profitable.

I think it’s important to consider the latest round of circularity seperate to the earlier stages which were both necessary given the capital required to build infrastructure. Plus nvdia’s desire to diversify consumers
