Building a system that deduplicates audio files based on acoustic #fingerprinting. The algorithm used is a normalized Hamming distance over two vectors of 32-bit integers, which represent the raw AcoustID #Chromaprint fingerprint.

My approach to tagging my large collection of ytm-downloaded music in the end was to just run chromaprint against all of them, and check against acoustID and MusicBrainz

Doesn't work for small/indie releases though, unless someone contributes that data already

I'm mostly convinced that chromaprint is sort of broken and it might just be algorithmic issues given how much any 'no sound' in the beginning of a track throws it off. Plus the last release is now 2 major ffmpeg releases behind ... @metabrainz.org
