I don’t think you’d make a good claypot.

(Lamb and tofu skins stewed with peanut butter, sesame paste, chu hou paste, fermented beancurd, carrot, potato, green onion, mushroom, five spice, soy sauce, [rose sorghum wine], sesame oil, cinnamon, star anise, chenpi, ginger - yum!)

So you soak a fistful of raisins in superior chicken stock overnight w peppercorns, star anise, chenpi, cinnamon. Bring to boil with garlic clove, green onion knot, and ginger knob and simmer for 20 minutes. Cool, remove aromatics, and pulverise it. Strain. It should be the texture of thick coffee.

Trying these tea resins for the first time. I enjoyed the Chenpi Shou Pu'er, light citrus and creamy vanilla notes. The resin melts simular to shilajit, slower and needs a stir, yet easy to use. #pu'er #teatastingnotes #teatime

Awww, yiss—it’s tea mail day from @fridaytea.com! I would’ve ripped into one of these already if I wasn’t already brewing Merry Fellow when the mail arrived (another winning blend, btw). Excited to get a bonus sample of unsmoked lapsang to try, too!

May 14, 2025 at 5:40 AM
this one definitely. i might make this one again, and its brethren, "half boiled tea", soon, and finally finish my blogpost

but I'd have to actually source dogwood, longan, and some decent chenpi for a better repro... i did just get sent some Hakka sour orange, though

Afternoon #Teasky! I made my own homemade #chenpi which I put in a shou #pu'erh today and it was delicious. Different from the ones I've had before, probably because it's not as aged, but very nice. Would do again and do recommend!

I get my chenpi in bags from the Asian store to use in my own recipes so I already have it, that and goji berries. (:

I love the chenpi puerh. So warm. It's getting a lot easier to find good puerh in the us. I have two default places I usually get the sticky rice from, depending on who's having a sale:

Where do you get your sticky rice pu-erh?

I might also try steeping a few goji berries and a little chenpi (dried mandarin skin) with it — it's something folks in Southeast Asia do with pu-erh.
