Under new government legislation, businesses will no longer have to pay VAT on goods donated to charity

KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, today received an audience with the founder of Malik Streams Group, Datuk Abdul Malik Dasthigeer. Quoting a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s Facebook, during the meeting, His Majesty agreed to receive a donation of RM1 million from the Malik Streams Group for the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ) to carry out community work. In addition, the company also channeled RM100,000 to the Sultanah Rogayah Foundation, a foundation under the patronage of the Johor Royal Family which focuses on helping the Indian community. -Agency
