Sara did everything “right”—vaccine & screenings —and STILL faced #cervicalcancer.

Her story inspired her husband’s company to stand with her in #Cervivor shirts at a Nationals game. 💙🤍

That’s the power of storytelling.

The day after the Cow-ser bobblehead the Baysox are giving out a mullet wig.
They are absolutely killing it with the promotions and giveaways this year, starting with the infamous Oyster Catchers logo and partnership with Cervivor.

Let's talk #CervicalCancer prevention! Watch "The Conquering Cancer in the USA" documentary featuring #Cervivor. And, huge news! The FDA has approved the 1st at-home HPV test as a Pap test alternative! Making screenings more accessible than ever! #NationalWomensCheckupDay #WomensHealth

UW Medicine & Cervivor: Stories change minds. They change how people think about issues that can otherwise feel impersonal. Stories matter. "I don't think any amount of data will ever change hearts and minds. It's the stories." - Alison McCrary #NHPVC25

So if you made the obvious joke about the Oyster Catchers, the club has more jerseys available with hats/shirts coming tomorrow. 10% of the sales go to I Am Cervivor, a Cervical Cancer grouop. Keep an eye on the Baysox for more merch. hubs.ly/Q03d4VGB0

They pivoted, but pulled the oyster logo, "In celebration of Women’s History Month, they announced, 10% of all Oyster Catchers merchandise sales will support Cervivor, a nonprofit dedicated to cervical cancer education and advocacy." www.thebaltimorebanner.com/sports/oriol...
Chesapeake Baysox make charitable pledge after logo goes viral for the wrong reasons
The Baysox are leaning into the situation for a good cause. “If we’re going to go viral, let’s make it count!” the team wrote on its Instagram account.

They're so close, their response was, "In celebration of Women’s History Month, they announced, 10% of all Oyster Catchers merchandise sales will support Cervivor, a nonprofit dedicated to cervical cancer education and advocacy." I know "Cervivor" is supposed to be a play on survivor, but I'm too internet poisoned to see it as anything but Cervi-vore, like a fetish for eating cervixes

Even though effective HPV vaccine & screenings exist, many around the globe don't have access to these lifesavers. Plus, in many regions, it's taboo to talk about pelvic exams, let alone get one. Health equity, though, is not taboo.

Here's another #WorldCancerDay tidbit, from @cervivor.bsky.social:

🖤 Black History Month is here!

We celebrate our unique strength and the power of our differences. Black women are more likely to die from cervical cancer—together, we raise awareness and fight for health equity.

Having paid the 200+ mth price while uninsured and piled up in hospital bills, this is big news. Shared this info w/ Cervivor (wonderful org and patient community) as a resource for these meds. Thank you. Most cervical cancer survivors need estrogen for years post-treatment.
