It's always a pleasure to spend the day out with the lab. Today was all about sharing our research and hearing about the other work going on in the department.

I was able to share and get valuable feedback on our latest insights on NINJ1 in #celldeath and #inflammation.

Randal #Halfmann, who oversaw the work, observed that these #proteins don't always wait for a virus.

Given enough time—over a lifespan—they will spontaneously crystallize on their own. This misfire leads to #CellDeath and #inflammation.

soap has to feed regularly to prevent organ failure and celldeath, even moreso when siring a fledgling, as a lot of resources go into making venom and milk
