#medlibs #canmedlibs Calling all Embase users (esp on Ovid). Anyone know what's up with subject headings that seemingly don't exist? I was demonstrating how you can use an indexed article for finding additional terms and clicked on the link for mechanical cpr, which brought me 22 new articles.

I'm also concerned that things could be removed #canmedlibs
It's very concerning that the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee was terminated and there's little awareness of it. This has me concerned that more predatory/crap science will become part of PubMed. #medlibs
PubMed is running on autopilot during shutdown, but key independent committee has been abolished #medlibs www.bmj.com/content/391/...

#medlibs #canmedlibs work is usually behind the scenes, but sometimes it gets a little notice. Faculty "scoured a very limited body of global scientific research to try to learn more about open-heart procedures conducted on pregnant patients." #giftlink www.theglobeandmail.com/gift/02089c0...

This woman is in a nursing program & the entire textbook for her anatomy class is wrong because it was written by a professor who used chatgpt to generate the images & possibly the text. She complained to the prof, then the university— they’ve done NOTHING about it.

Office of Science - CDC Library

They have helped SO many of us with their expertise & guidance so we can do efficient & quick research.

You don’t need us toiling in Pubmed for days at a time during an outbreak. The library helps us get what we need quickly so we can continue our work.

Happy library month #MedLibs #CanMedLibs the sources of information upon which you rely are being violently altered and shuttered
Among many others at the CDC, the Trump regime laid off the staff of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

“The publication’s storied history includes a June 1981 report that five previously healthy gay men were treated for an unusual pneumonia — the first hint of the AIDS epidemic.”

How does "Navigation Guide" methodology differ from regular systematic review methodology? Everything I skim about it sounds just like...systematic review. #MedLibs #CanMedLibs

Very proud to have contributed to this scoping review 😊! Hope that it encourages the development of validated geographic search filters for more locations. #medlibs #ukmedlibs #canmedlibs #ausmedlibs
Geographic filters in literature searches can help limit evidence to specific characteristics, such as country or region. A scoping review aimed to identify validated geographic search filters & evaluate their development & performance measures.

#TodayThisLibrarian well technically last night, I spent 2.5 hours on a call with other leading volunteers across Canada defending a new CSA standard. Evidence is at the heart of this.
#MedLibs #CanMedLibs
Hi everyone. Very time-sensitive ask here from your friend in NB. Two parts, relating to the CSA standard #Z94.4. The Canadian Aerosol Transmission Coalition has written a statement in support of the revisions to Z94.4. You or your organization are welcome to sign on in support, deadline tom. /1

Evidence synthesis folks:
In the PRISMA flow diagram, do records removed by Covidence's automatic deduplication go in "Duplicate records removed" or "Records marked as ineligible by automation tools"?

Never been so happy to have followed good #DataManagement practices. There were times that I almost didn't take the time to use the naming convention, but I resisted.

I must remember to thank my awesome colleagues for inspiring this in my practice (they know who they are ❤️). #CanMedLibs
