The thing I despise most in a TTRPG—more than "immersion," even—is when people play defensively, which is to say they don't do anything if it's even remotely dangerous for their character. It's especially galling in my games, *since your character literally cannot be killed unless you agree to it.*

I think every video game company is probably Like This to some extent but it sort of sticks in my craw that larian pitch themselves as this plucky little underdog rockstar with a CEO who’s not like other CEOs (look! He wears armour!) but they were treating people like dirt behind the scenes

Not them specifically, I just have a thing in my craw about frum guy singing groups from cultures that discourage women singing (kol isha, the principle that women's voices are licentious) or mixed gender singing or etc. But again, not to yuck others' yum etc etc

Yeah, true, point taken :D I dunno, I guess I'm just a little invested in this whole drama because his initial take, as a talking point, wasn't a bad one. It could've had many a good discussion as a result, but it all went tits up in like, less than a day because of repeated poor choice of words :/

One thing is sticking to my craw is the claims of birthright citizenship would only be limited to black citizens. American citizenship was complex even in 1865. You had citizenship disputes that arose when the United States acquired territory under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
There are many constitutional questions that are complicated. There are many questions around the Citizenship Clause that are complicated. The citizenship of the children of unlawful entrants and temporary visitors to the US is not complicated.
