In WA State, heat detection is required in new garage attached to single family residences, duplexes and townhouses (not over 3 stories in height). The red font indicates this is an amendment from the model IRC (International Residential Code). #buildingcodes #firesafety #residential #newhome

In the photo below, there is an issue that some may not be aware of. Galvanized pipe (on the left) and copper(on the right) are dissimilar metals and connecting them results in electrolysis and corrosion downstream resulting in leaks.

The first known building codes can be traced back to 1772 BC (almost 3800 year ago) through the Code of Hammurabi. This code addressed the cost of the build, repercussions if someone if injured or worse and compensation if stores are damaged. #buildingcodes #construction #inspector
