It's more of a fortified barracks. I could imagine people expecting Bodiam, or maybe Neuschwanstein

Bodiam Castle, interpreted during the virus epidemic

Treading through my archive, I see the effect on the psyche of this episode in history, when confronted with photos like this.

A black and white shot of Bodiam Castle, built in the 14th Century, quite the place to explore.

Always kinda loved these since I was a kid, when I discovered them as part of a infant school project

Many years later I still cannot resist turning over logs to look for them

And as a result, a handful of years ago I found the biggest I have ever seen, at one and a half inches long, near Bodiam

And to close out, a slightly more obscure locale; Bodiam Castle in East Sussex, England. I may have gotten some details mixed up, but I hope this was enjoyable!

Bodiam Castle is an ancient 14th century castle located near Robertsbridge, a small village in East Sussex. It is known above all for its characteristic position, in the center of a moat completely filled with water.

This is lovely; I particularly like the castle’s slight resemblance to Bodiam. We need peace right now and an end to barbarism.
2 Oct 1518: the Treaty of Universal Peace, designed by Cardinal Wolsey, aka the Treaty of #London is signed in #London #otd - comprehending most of the European powers (A dove, c. 1225 - c. 1250 Rijksmuseum)

Love Bodiam Castle. A great place to spend a lazy day with a picnic while being surrounded by history, photo opportunities and letting the imagination run free.

Luckily, it was purely decorative (in his mind). Love Bodiam, it's my favourite local castle from my childhood.

Bodiam Castle, located in East Sussex, England, was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge as a response to potential French invasion during the Hundred Years' War. Its design features a quadrangular layout surrounded by a moat, showcasing a blend of military and aesthetic architecture

About two miles of track is due to be built via a level crossing across the A21 (!!) and (approximately) these fields near Salehurst. You will then be able to ride on a delightfully dozy rural steam line from Robertsbridge to Bodiam and Tenterden (hopefully by 2027 or so)
