Yes. It was too watered down to work. Behavioural Econ has various hurdles and frictions. Look at mating preferences. Or maybe don’t 🤨😩🤔🤪😑

This paper clearly exposes the hereditarian project for the pseudoscience it is 👇 Also highlights how overtly political are those who promote the claim there are evolved racial differences in cognitive and behavioural traits, despite strong protestations to the contrary
Today is the day! Our reply to the two concurrent critiques (from the same set of authors) is now published in the journal Intelligence 🧵 1/

one of my least favourite features of the celtic countries is actually the tendency to leap to ritualistic mocking at the smallest excuse, be it through malappropriate use of sarcasm, making fun of people's clothes or day-to-day behavioural tics, or never letting you forget something embarrassing

We then develop a Bayesian stats model that takes raw behavioural observations as input, and can recover the generative model’s parameters. We finally illustrate how to use our models to ask causal questions (eg effect of sex on behaviour)
November 12, 2025 at 11:56 AM
Instead, we first develop a generative model describing what pairs of individuals (dyads) do over time. Dyads differ in how long they stay in, and how they transition between behavioural states. This results in varying sequences of behavioural interactions that are structured like empirical data.

To test causal theories about why animal societies look the way they do, we often rely on observations collected as time-series. For example, with focal-animal sampling, observers follow individual animals and record what they are doing, and who they’re interacting with, in continuous time.

Interacting agents can create shared communication systems without ever knowing if signals are successfully received. The conventionalisation process involves a curious interaction between joint attention and individual behavioural differences. doi.org/10.1371/jour.... Work with Casimir Fisch.

Regional Office for Europe Published date: 17 November 2024 Article type: Policy Brief Short Review  This policy brief is a paper that all that work in healthcare should read. Something as simple of a letter can affect a patient's interaction with health care. For some context, letters are some of the most difficult to update and make changes to.

All schools are already invested in raising attendance. Why not focus on proven strategies to help them succeed and fund schools properly to address absence caused by a lack of SEND, behavioural & mental health support? A more engaging curriculum and less emphasis on target grades would help too.

🩸 New systematic review + meta-regression on plasma donation intentions and behaviour.

Authors identified 56 behavioural factors across 11 domains! However, no clear clear predictors of donation behaviour were found: the intention-behaviour gap remains a priority.
