Really enjoyed #bsls2025 in Lancaster - presented a paper, forgot to book accommodation, found a bed (!), saw some wonderful research including a great keynote or two, caught up with friends old and new (and an old student - now a fantastic lecturer!). Thanks so much to the organisers!

Still recovering from last week's #BSLS2025 in Lancaster! So many great interdisciplinary panels and talks, spanning robots, clones, gene editing, astrology, etc.

I presented a paper on SF models and the ways they're being instrumentalised as part of a session on New Narrative Structures.

Another fantastic #BSLS2025 conference!

Such great people, personal highlight was Sydney Padua's animations of Lovelace and Babbage and the Analytical Engine.

I was speaking about my work on horses and cars in David Seals' The Powwow Highway.

Thanks to the organisers!

A huge thank you to @thebsls.bsky.social for all the effort that’s gone into #bsls2025. It was a pleasure to present today on Ishiguro’s clones alongside two other fantastic scholars working on ethics and reproductive technologies. Looking forward to the rest of the conference!
