No BSECS this year for me, but will be at UKGE (observing), the Southampton Global Austen conference (doing something weird with Austen games), & possibly Playful Learning.

And between doing some playtesting & talking & sharing drafts & hiding & writing some more.
#BSECS2025 is the 54th Annual Conference of the British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, this year being held between the 7th and the 10th January at Pembroke College Oxford. The only #businessandeducationtechnology trends that we are interested in are #18thC ones!

Does anyone else have trouble renewing their BSECS (@bsecs.bsky.social) membership with Wiley?

This is the 3rd year in a row that my card has been declined and the process to rectify this is time consuming and infuriating.

Looking forward to attending my 22nd @bsecs.bsky.social annual conference this week. On the day registration for #BSECS2024 “Work and Play” is still open.

Had a lovely time at BSECS 2024! Highlights include of course presenting with @18thcenturysam.bsky.social and @elementaladam.bsky.social, chaired by the formidable @drwilliams.bsky.social; so many good papers, a roaring plenary by Paterson Joseph, and of course Admiral Flapjack

Really disappointed not to be at BSECS due to the weather (see snow pic!), but hope everyone going has a fab time!

If anyone is in York on Saturday, I’ll be giving the Director’s Cut of my BSECS paper for the York Georgian Society (message me for deets)

YES! "The Open Digital Seminar in Eighteenth-Century Studies," in all its glory!

You may have heard of the professional org, ASECS (American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies), or its more encouraging UK counterpart, BSECS (British Society for etc., etc.)?

SEX, all of 'em.

Hi Stephen, hope you had a good BSECS?! Somehow seem to have missed you entirely this year. I didn't even hear anything about the BSECS digital prize winner. Hope to catch up soon, well, Pembroke 2025 at the latest!

OK, @BSECS I have caved. Sure hope someone wants an #ISECS workshop on how to get started with #DH (riffing off our @ASECS_DH session led by @MeganPeiser) with a healthy dose of "Have you considered being ingested by @18thConnect?"

Someone mentioned it in a paper on duels at BSECS.

After facilitating this activity with @bsecs.bsky.social members in January, today the whole BSECS Council did it themselves. What should 18th-century Studies look like in 2034? What can we do to make that vision a reality? #18C
