it took at least an hour to install the dual z axis mod, but that's not the only thing. still need to do bltouch, replace the extruder gears, upgrade the firmware, clear the nozzle jam

Normally this printer works without much fuss - been lucky with the choice of filament over the years and the mechanism is pretty solid. The only mod I've done is upgrade the firmware from stock and add a BLTouch auto-levelling sensor. The latter is a godsend. It makes the printer much more usable.

I put hoooooours into my ender 3 pro. It works really well now, but u will need to know that thing inside and out to get good quality prints. Definitely get an upgraded motherboard for quieter prints, and a BLTouch for auto leveling.

After a week of the equivalent of open heart surgery on my 3D printer, it is back up and running (with only some fine tuning left). New main board, klipper OS, new bltouch, and all the configs I could dream of.
Now time to tackle my 26+ entries and growing list of things to print.

The spares I personally keep on hand are fans, a replacement hot end, replacement pins for the BLTouch, nozzles, and any printed parts that I rely on (ie if they fail, I can't print replacements).

Getting frustrated now, this crtouch/bltouch thing seems completely useless, I have to keep adjusting the print bed every time I thought the whole point of it was to NOT have to do that... and the 'updated' firmware for it just keeps doing whatever the fuck random shit it wants with tuning settings

@XenoPhage when you have bltouch you don't set z-offset, but probe offset. It changes exactly what you need, which is the encoded distance between the nozzle and the probe. I have also spent days before I figured it out.

For now, I keep getting the STOP BLTouch M999 error, which seems to be fixed by editing the firmware. I do not know how to do this.

I'm still getting blue-screen from the Ender 3 Pro even after formatting an SD card with the latest firmware and trying to flash it. I'm stuck at a point where I feel like I should drop it for now and start work on the Sidewinder's BLTouch error.

Po 2 měsících jsem konečně zase zprovoznil Ender-3 tentokrát s BLTouch.
Chladicí hlava, kterou jsem si vybral, měla tu jehlu moc vysoko, musel jsem ji vymezit matičkama a nastavit offset na -3.15mm - teď už to vypadá OK a zase tiskneme

Today I'll finish up the BLTouch install on the 3D printer & install some firmware.
My friend has a Bambu X1C. I've never seen a 3D printer "just work" but that one did. No errors, no fiddling - it just printed.

Figurine => résine, c'est le mieux (j'attend la bonne affaire sur le coincoin)
Pour les trucs sans détails, ou dans ce genre => bamboula selon mes potes printers (je suis resté sur l'ender 3v1, mais modée avec un bltouch, un plateau magnétique, un extruder direct sans Bowden, une carte mère 4.2.7)
