Judith Presenting Herself to Holofernes https://collections.artsmia.org/art/1486/

Both of these paintings are of the same event (Judith Beheading Holofernes, Book of Judith) but differ in subtext.

Left is Caravaggio (a man), makes Judith look weak, concerned, and hesitant.

Right is Gentileschi (a woman), and makes Judith assertive and badass.

Point is, Gentileschi is awesome.

I went to the @metmuseum.org & asked to be directed to the Assyrian art.

❌ The first worker sent me to the Islamic art section.

❌ The second told me no Assyrian art was on display due to construction, which was untrue.

I found Mesopotamian art on my own.

The ancestors called me.

Mamdani is going to impose Shammuramat law. Everyone will be co-opted into the military to expand the boundaries of the Neo-Assyrian empire and put up impressive boundaries steles. It will be very predictable and the people will have mīšaram.
Mamdani is going to impose shangri-la law. Everyone will be blindfolded and forced to play Marco Polo
Mamdani gonna implement Shaaloani law. All disputes settled via shootout duels using non-lethal rounds with all the authenticity of a spaghetti western directed by Japanese anime enthusiasts.

(This is a timely Final Fantasy XIV reference)

Dogs are unclean to Muslims. That dates back to the older Torah regulations pre-Islam among the Hebrews, which most Israelis no longer adhere to; they've picked up dog ownership the same as the Naphtalites did in exile after Assyrian resettlement, as recorded in Tobit.

Have you ever walked the streets of Jerusalem?

Imagine them 2,700 years ago—reshaped by Assyrian conquest, bustling under new rulers, and leaving behind clues that rewrite what we thought we knew about ancient Judah.

Yeah, the Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East knew what he was doing when he handed the Pope that customized Cubs jersey. The proper polite thing to do to a White Sox fan.
