#Assurance
I got a printer and now can make prints at home. Maru is doing quality assurance to ensure absolute purrfection.

Their excuse to harvest the data was "quality assurance"

The only way to ensure quality at NBTK is to fire everyone involved in this travesty and start a new team from scratch
So the Oslo University Hospital group that got caught doing illegal research on trans minors actually applied for an exemption to privacy regulations and got denied... THREE TIMES!

Then went ahead and tried to be sneaky about it anyway!
Vi har avdekket at forskerne fikk avslag på fritak fra taushetsplikten og fra å innhente samtykke til forskning fra pasientene - tre ganger.

De gjennomførte forskningsprosjektet likevel.

prison is on some level essentially a technological fix to the societal problem of “need some assurance these people won’t do these things again” it’s not inherently insane to think that that aspect of it might one day be technically fixed (No, pedants, I’m not saying “we can do this today!”)

A perversion of justice.

The criminal who escaped prosecution pardons his most elevated accomplices and delivers the assurance that anyone breaking the law in support of him will be protected.

Trump pardons Rudy Giuliani and others involved in bid to overturn 2020 election
The pardons may be largely symbolic as none of the people listed were convicted of federal crimes, which the presidential pardon covers.

Deloitte's job was simply to help DEWR "bring back into proper operation" the system of mutual obligations & penalties (currently spitting out ~2 million payment suspensions a year).

This clearly backfired, because
-Deloitte couldn't provide assurance
-generated a global AI scandal

assurance
November 11, 2025 at 7:19 PM
Exactly!
The very next post in Kaine's feed refers to Trump ignoring signed legislation, but we are supposed to believe Tim really thinks the GOP will honor some vague assurance they gave that they will bring this to a vote?

If you’re confused about the difference between “age verification,” “age estimation,” “age assurance,” and “age gate” — you’re not alone. Let’s help you make sense of it all. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...
Age Verification, Estimation, Assurance, Oh My! A Guide to the
Age verification, age assurance, age estimation, age gating—they get thrown around interchangeably, but they technically mean different things. And those differences matter a lot when we're talking

Important update. SNAP is FULLY FUNDED in Connecticut as of today. The state has given assurance that it will backstop payment should the Trump administration persist in its callous effort to starve American families for political leverage.
November 8, 2025 at 7:46 PM
So a Republican Party that lies shamelessly is to be trusted to do a vote? With no assurance it would succeed? Only a fool would give away leverage for this.

Why did DEWR outsource "independent" assurance, giving Deloitte access to its own AI tools to spit out slop?

Because all it ever wanted from Deloitte was justification to keep MOs punishments going

I have FOIed a bunch of Ministerial briefings & the theme is the same: We must keep the system on

in case anyone needed the assurance, this works just fine with @uzdoom.bsky.social

And they talk about 'ideological capture' with such blind assurance, as if they're not talking about themselves

Every conservative accusation is a confession

Going through all of this just to walk away with an assurance for a future tax subsidy vote is an 11/10 on The Susan Collins Dupe™ Scale.

Arrested without cause, but still have to pay $1500 for their freedom. With no assurance they won't be targeted or unjustly arrested again. Fucking extortion...
///BREAKING/// Judge Jeffrey Cummings orders that by noon of Nov. 17, he will order the release of all of the 615 "Operation Midway Blitz" detainees identified as class participants (at least those still here in the country) once they pay a $1,500 bond.

most of my group chats right now are federal workers trying to help each other find food and emergency help

people are getting tripped up in red tape trying to get a pittance of unemployment that doesn’t cover DC housing

people don’t have assurance about backpay and are worried savings are gone
November 8, 2025 at 3:21 PM
no actual trans person targeted with a bad faith mulching campaign would be SO smug and comfortable in their assurance of freedom from consequences that they could taunt their foes by tripling down on the open misogyny and gleeful lying. this is an impunity uniquely available to cis men.
November 12, 2025 at 3:07 AM
Another lingering question I have about all this: why did Deloitte even have access to the Department's AI tools - when it was meant to be doing "independent" assurance of the unlawful mutual obligations system?
November 12, 2025 at 1:26 AM
We also have no assurance that the President won’t continue to disrespect and ignore appropriations law. He already did it, with no pushback from Speaker Johnson. How can we trust him to spend the funds as directed by Congress now? 2/3

Our Starmap in physical form for the first time! This is just a proof, used for quality assurance before we run them all. The final version for backers won’t have a white border and a person holding it up.

Q: “Last month, you said that you would not withdraw US troops from Europe, yet two weeks later, the Pentagon…decided to withdraw a significant number of troops from Romania. Have you changed your mind, or did the Pentagon ignore your assurance?”

Trump: “No. They don't ignore anything that I say.”
November 7, 2025 at 7:25 PM
How do you negotiate to open the government with a party operating this aggressively in bad faith? There can be no assurance any spending won’t just be refused if the Trump admin doesn’t like it.
SNAP update. Insane one. So USDA is now saying on a huge lag:
- issue partial payments using a bad-math formula;
- CLAW BACK full issuances that any state sent *properly* under last week's guidance;
- if you don't CLAW BACK benefits, we won't pay the federal share of SNAP administrative costs (??)
