The Carboniferous Period, had oxygen levels of 35% compared to today’s 21% – a condition that was particularly favorable for arthropod gigantism. Insects like the Meganeura, dragonfly-like creatures, boasted a wingspan of over two feet purely because of this oxygen supercharge.

This is how they look like now. The colors are inspired by Queen Alexandra's birdwing, but I still haven't decided on the patterns on the wings. Also, I added them proboscis like in bees, but it will work more like a tongue

Fellow arthropod fans: This is even more amazing than the headline describes! The researchers say it’s “the first evidence of colonial behavior in two common spider species.”
Scientists would normally expect barn funnel weavers to prey on P. vagans, but the lack of light in the cave may impair the spiders' vision, according to the study. The spiders instead eat non-biting midges, which in turn feast on white microbial biofilms — slimy secretions that protect microorganisms against threats in their environment — from sulfur-oxidizing bacteria in the cave.

Tasmorei realized too late that, though former demon she might be, she was way in over her head. The most vicious among the infernal host were known as 'heroslayers', and it was a sobriquet well earned.

She has long brown hair, tan skin, golden eyes, and canine ears, as well as a bushy tail that appears aglow near its tip as if on fire. From her waist emerge four squid-like tentacles. She wears metal armor covering most of her humanoid body, waist, and back. Surrounding her is an enormous demonic warrior whose body is long, armored, and segmented, as if a hideous worm or arthropod. The demon's body curls around Tasmorei and their 'head' rears into the air. Emerging from their gaping mandibles like some sort of monstrous tongue is the upper body of a humanoid in the appearance of a woman with dark brown hair, glowing eyes, and otherwise fair countenance. Tasmorei appears badly wounded. In her right hand she holds the hilt of a shattered sword. One of her tentacles is severed, and she paws ineffectually at her foe with the others. She glares up at the demon, who has positioned their humanoid 'body' above her and is mockingly caressing her chin while smirking at her. The monster part of the demon, though, holds Tasmorei's right arm firmly in the grip of one of its large burly arms.
