my favourite thing about Yugioh is how they will take existing properties and popculture and turn it into whole archtypes but make them unique and standout and original without losing the vibe of it. Kaiju, Sky Strikers, Kozmo, so many good examples so clearly inspired but with their own identity

I think it's safe to say Avatar is a pretty strong set. A lot of new cards to update multiple archtypes and create new ones like the lesson matter brews we seen going around. Been fun playing with the standard meta atm.

It is funny that the movie has the two parent issues archtypes:
Frankenstein's monster: has daddy issues, sympathetic, does bad things but it comes from a well of deep pain, ultimately the relatable hero.
Victor Frankenstein: has mommy issues. Probably a psychopath.

I like building semi-pure or mixing archtypes that thematically make sense to mesh with each other (dinomist and cyber dragon) its fun to still play things school yard casual but with modern archtypes, just use what you like!

Why did they give Gallica armor, a weapon and a social link but didn't make her a full fledged combat character?

Tibarn was another beast... literally. He was one of my strongest.
It would be cool to replay to play these games and focus resources on other archtypes. my mages were just laguz fodder and they couldnt use half the spells available

Wouldn't be the 1st time Rogan " slipped into second spot" Archetypes Megan Markel pushed him to 2nd place,Archtypes was in 47 Countries. Rogan was paid 250Million Signing on Bonus. Markel 18 Million. Egg on the face of Podcast CEO to explain disparity,guess who was name-called & dropped.

always appreciated KoF's art direction & character design because they conveyed personality & subsequent narrative mechanics over Capcom's SF original cast that used visually recognizable cultural stereotypes to convey archtypes, though I fully recognize the former would not exist without the latter

But I digress. Ban/limit the card for all I care, just give us SOMETHING. Ragnaraika mostly helped Plant BUT Mitsurugi sounds very solid & I can't wait for it to hit Master Duel.
But I really want them to try and make the older archtypes at least viable. If not them, some monsters like Vennominaga.

5. I'm including both of these because honestly? the idea of Hey want a soulsborne but gun? was done so fucking well, and the 2nd game honestly was such a massive upgrade and made archtypes extremely fun to build instead of the normal max every stat that the first game had ALSO THE WORLDS DESIGNS

Evilswarm is the previous shadoll like archetype. It was an infestation demon that poisoned alot of different archtypes like ice barrier or ally of justice.
Infernity are cool looking demons with the backwards yugioh mechanics of 0 hand to trigger effects

The feeling is "I've meet these archtypes many many times before. They don't feel like characters anymore, they feel like board-room decisions."
There are mannerisms and movements and sounds intrinsic to anime made in the last 15 years and it just grates my nerves.

It is wild that Yu-gi-oh's two worst archtypes are both second to last archtypes of a lore deck representing the evil faction of their story. Kashtira and Bystials simply should not exist. Even Azimina the 3rd of these also is annoying but only cuz exactly 1 card unlike these others.

Where are the main places you get reading recs from? For me, from friends/family, from what my friends are reading and reviewing on goodreads, library browsing (I'm a librarian, so this happens every day), searching for books with specific tropes, archtypes, or readalikes to books I like.
