Sketch commission from 2017 for a client on deviantART of their Sonic fan characters together.

Stargazer the Cat - Aztec the Kangaroo - Vertigo the Archaeopteryx

Maybe someday I'll open art commissions again :)

If u wanna know more abt evolutionary history should look up stuff on archaeopteryx (origin of birds), megatherium (giant sloths that are the reason why avocados still exist), coelacanths (living fossil), galesauridae (first "mammal"), and dimetrodon (hes just cool)

#Bookvember Day 6

I will have to go back to Whirlaway for this, our family read this book to pieces and we loved the illustrations. I showed one of the colour plates earlier. This is one of the drawings.

I started feeding the neighborhood archaeopteryx flock and now they sit on my neighbor's roof all day and just scream. AITA?

Archaeopteryx fossils have only been found in Germany. What makes them special is that they’re strong evidence for the theory of evolution, because they shows characteristics of both reptiles and birds.

Playing card designs for my roulette game about recently-extinct animals on a volcano! Numbers indicate how far you can move

1 - Wiggle like Hallucigenia
2 - Crawl like Tiktaalik
3 - Leap like Archeopteryx
M - Enlist the "help" of monkeys

I am going through old sketchbooks before I shove them into another closet and am somewhat bemused by the notes I wrote to my future self.

“pecked to death by iron-eyed albatrosses”

“Archaeopteryx girl at the cliffs of oolong”

“Eve tastes the Bacon of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.”

I made a run to the Field Museum this week and finally saw the Chicago Archaeopteryx.
Just wow, it’s a stunner. And the exhibit is a beauty! 🪶 👀🤩

Archaeopteryx girl at the cliffs of oolong

2 oz Kavalan whisky
3⁄4 oz honey syrup (1:1 mix of honey and water)
3⁄4 oz apple cider
3⁄4 oz chilled oolong tea

Shake, strain into glass, garnish with a lemon twist.

A recent piece I did for work - Archaeopteryx! Don't get too excited though, this isn't a concept for a VFX animal, moreso just a one-off illustration. It was a really fun exercise in learning how to render out bigger swathes of feathers!

Some fun WIP stuff below ⬇️

Who remembers the show Dinosaucers?
The way it had me learning proper dinosaur names but also leaving me confused by the horny undertones of Genghis Rex always trying to kidnap his crush Teryx (she was an archaeopteryx and a soap opera star, see? Madness.)
Kid shows were wild in the 80s.
a cartoon character is standing next to another cartoon character and a dinosaur .
Alt: a cartoon T-Rex looking smug

Feathered traces in trackways, and some more beautiful Dinosaur models and dioramas. A book absolutely packed with art including the margins of the text itself in places.
