Yeech! In case we need reminding us that it could be grim for gladiators in Roman Britain.

KCL's Dr John Pearce is co-author on this grisly and gruesome finding that bite marks on skeletons at York are the first physical evidence of gladiators vs lions. 🏺

Coarse Red Ware (CRW) pottery from the c. 5740–4890 BC site of Bahra I, Kuwait. CRW is one of the earliest ceramic traditions in the region. The diversity of forms suggests they were not standardised, indicating it was produced on a household level. 🏺 ArchaeologyBluesky
