Transferred some floater plants from my community tank. There is rummy nose tetra, apistogramma cacatuoides, and leopard Cory in there. Although I did just get an order of shrimp and it could be from there. Posted by Few-Condition-7049

This trumpet pod normally sat at the back of my tank. My Apistogramma had been missing for about 4 days and I was beginning to think he had died where I couldn’t find him. Was just looking at some loaches when I saw the orange tail wriggling. Managed to break the pod open with some wire cutters without hurting him. A very spooked but otherwise fine fish came out. If anyone is buying these as botanicals, just be aware what fish you are putting in there. My shrimp and kuhli loaches love them (who I had gotten them for originally).

I’m currently setting up a tank. It’s 470L (125g). It’s a planted aquascape with rocks and driftwood etc. I haven’t bought any fish yet but have a list of desired residents. I want a centrepiece fish for the tank and I’ve narrowed it down to these two. I’d love to hear some recommendations or any stories you can share on experience with them, how they get along with the other fish etc. This is my current list. Many suggested me to remove the male after a spawn as they tend to not care for the fry. I also had read that males are responsible for the larger territory and female for taking care of the fry. Looks like I got a great pair and as first time parents they are doing incredibly well. In the video you can notice the male pulled the fry back from going further away 😊Posted by danbrown543

When I began maintenance on my tank this evening, I noticed my female Apistogramma agassizii on her side. She seems to be unable to control her roll and is generally lethargic but breathing. She gained spawning colours and became aggressive at the start of the year, but I didn’t see her guarding a clutch. She never really returned to her former self afterwards, and was mostly cryptically patterned and reclusive. Any idea what could be wrong with her? I’m not confident she’ll make it through the night. Tank: 100L community biotope Temperature: 25-26c Ammonia and nitrite: 0 ppm Nitrates: 10-20
