I've done those modifications before DevTools official support for AnimationFrame, including placing it under the 'Animation' part of the model. It ended up being a good exercise and am still using it to get all timmings for the different sections of AnimationFrames for the entire timespan.

Working on a better breakdown for AnimationFrames on trace entries for PerfLab. There are, for now, some reasons why an animation frame might have gaps in the attribution and those are well documented @nomster.bsky.social and @tunetheweb.com article: developer.chrome.com/docs/web-pla....
