Why is it that so many adult disorganised people feel that it's a skill that's impossible to be learned? Life is so much easier when things are tidy and in some kind of logical and erganomical order. 😃👍

Found an anglepoise-style one at Argos on page one!

I have a real proper Anglepoise...it's upstairs on my sewing table! I need one that's tall enough to stand on the floor at the back of the sofa ideally.

Anglepoise lamp?
December 20, 2025 at 3:23 PM
That's me done for the year. Goodbye to this view for a bit.

how are you gonna be on the spectrum without an anglepoise lamp??? how can you organise your button collection under the shadow of Big Light???

December. 3pm. Sunset is 50 minutes away and it’s gloomy enough in here that I had to put the lights on.

Ran the anglepoise actinic last night in a half-hearted attempt to lure a Winter Moth to our window. No WM, but did find this Mottled Umber tucked in against the window frame.

I’m not sure I’ve ever had a Winter Moth in the trap, they seem to be a back door species exclusively round here! Hopefully the anglepoise will lure one in before the end of the year!

Nice! Am without a Winter Moth this winter, mainly through lack of trapping, though I have been running the anglepoise actinic on the off chance.

Visited on the last day of artist Emily Powell’s house Open Day in Brixham, #Devon today - bright, busy & full of colour. Loved it - but just look at those amazing *mole* paintings!

Desk swapped out with Mr Merlin's assistance, while discussing Battletech lore.

I needed some wire because of LED lighting.

LED light bulbs are great, but they're heavier than the old incandescent ones. So my cheap #ikea #anglepoise knock-off desk lamp kept sagging from the weight.

I *could* find a new set of springs with a larger spring […]

Just me and Karla's Choice by @nickharkaway.com read by Simon Russell Beale this morning. Lovely.

I shall be watching, too, as I'd like another anglepoise lamp to match in function the one I paint under.

Preferably one that takes these clip-in daylight LED bulbs cos they're, quite simply, fucking great, and I haven't had to replace one in 5 years.

I knew it! My Anglepoise is stealing my chocolate from the fridge at night!

She keeps demanding more and more of these vintage lightbulbs, resorting to 15W signage bulbs, yet it's STILL not enough for her.

I swear if she goes for the pierogi...

Help! What do I do to make my Anglepoise behave?!

I spent too much on an Anglepoise and I love it because it is so damn easy to point at things and it just works and stays there in a way cheap lamps never did. I am vaguely embarrassed about how much it cost though.

I'd all but retired from mothing for the year. My traps were decomissioned. Then an hour ago I remembered that last night, on a whim, I'd flicked on the anglepoise actinic sometime after 1 a.m. And there, stickered on the outside of the glass above the still-lit lamp was this moth. #TeamMoth

The Soft Boys released "(I Want to Be An) Anglepoise Lamp" in 1978, thus setting the path for a lifetime of fantastically odd Robyn Hitchcock songs. But is it a sex thing?!

I particularly like them on an old Anglepoise.
