🆕 Amazon SES Mail Manager now supports Publish to Amazon SNS Topic Rule Action, enabling full email content notifications via SNS, enhancing delivery flexibility and high availability without additional SES fees, available in all 17 AWS Regions.

Amazon SES Mail Manager now supports Publish to Amazon SNS Topic Rule Action
Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) announces that its Mail Manager email modernization and infrastructure features now have a rule action which enables messages to be published using an Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) notification. The notification includes the complete email content, and has options for SNS Topic and Encoding. Amazon SNS is a fully managed service that provides message delivery from publishers (producers) to subscribers (consumers). Publishers communicate asynchornously with subscribers by sending messages to a topic, which is a logical access point and communication channel. Subscribers can choose to receive these notifications through a variety of endpoints, including email, SMS, and Lambda. By centralizing notification preferences within SNS, customers enhance messaging between applications and users while gaining advantages of high availability, durability, and flexibility. Using the Publish to SNS rule action within Mail Manager increases the number and type of delivery destinations available to customers as part of their larger ruleset configuration. Mail Manager’s Publish to SNS rule action is available in all 17 AWS Regions where Mail Manager is launched. There is no additional fee from SES to make use of this feature, though charges from AWS for SNS and destination channel activity may apply. Customers can learn more about SES Mail Manager by clicking here.

🆕 SES Mail Manager adds support for address and domain lists

#AWS #AmazonSes
SES Mail Manager adds support for address and domain lists
SES announces that Mail Manager now supports defined email address and domain lists which are used as part of the Mail Manager rules engine to distinguish between known and unknown addresses. This functionality adds both the mechanisms to upload and manage email address and domain lists, and the rules engine controls to make routing decisions based on whether a given address in a message envelope is on such a list or not. Customers are therefore able to ensure trusted delivery for known internal recipients while implementing catch-all behaviors for directory harvesting attacks, mistyped addresses, and standard behaviors for other domains owned and managed by the customer. SES recipient lists allow customers to upload email addresses individually or in batches via CSV files. They can then configure one or more lists with different routing preferences in the Mail Manager rules engine. This provides immediate changes to mail routing simply by adding another address to an existing list. For example, a list of “Retired Employees” might have new names added with some frequency, but the handling rule — attached to the list name itself — remains the same throughout. SES Mail Manager recipient lists increase the flexibility and security of customers using Mail Manager to handle incoming mail by increasing resistance to email-based reconnaissance efforts and without disclosing list names or aliases externally. SES Mail Manager recipient lists are available in every region where Mail Manager is launched. Customers can learn more about SES Mail Manager here.

🆕 Amazon Simple Email Services (SES) announces Deterministic Easy DKIM

#AWS #AmazonSes
Amazon Simple Email Services (SES) announces Deterministic Easy DKIM
Amazon Simple Email Services (SES) announces the availability of Deterministic Easy DKIM (DEED), a new form of global identity which simplifies the use of DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) management for SES first-party sender customers and independent solution vendors (ISVs). DEED expands the existing Easy DKIM solution from SES and enables it to work across all commercial AWS Regions, instead of being limited to just one. While Easy DKIM required domain name system (DNS) lookups to be made in the Region where the identity was verified, DEED expands that capability so customers can use the same identity across multiple Regions without making any DNS setup changes. Customers now have less risk of manual DNS management errors. At launch, the main use case for DEED is for large customers with multinational operations and a need to have shared access to core domain identities for SES sending from multiple worldwide subsidiaries. ISVs also need to be able to operate smoothly on behalf of their customers, including when moving activity into new Regions. DEED allows them to make those changes without requiring the primary domain owner to make DNS changes themselves. SES DEED is available across all commercial AWS Regions where SES sending is already available. A new blog post is available here to discuss the feature in greater detail. Click here for more information about Deterministic Easy DKIM and to begin the simple, guided onboarding process for initial setup.

SES Outbound now delivers to Mail Manager Archives
Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) announces that Outbound customers can now specify a Mail Manager archive resource as an additional destination for outbound mail workloads. This enables retention of messages post-DKIM-signature, ensuring that the archive is usable for validating every individual sent message. The Mail Manager archive search interface allows easy discovery of indexed messages and presents search results directly in the AWS console, or makes them available to export to the customer’s chosen S3 bucket. SES Outbound customers using APIv2 now have access to a new parameter in their configuration set which specifies a Mail Manager archive ARN in the same . Once the necessary role permissions in IAM are configured, the user initiating the Outbound workload will see a copy of each uniquely-signed outgoing message ingested into the destination archive, where it will be indexed and made available for both search and export. This new feature is billed at the existing Mail Manager Archive price points. This capability is available for Outbound customers in https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2025/01/ses-mail-manager-available-new-regions/ where Mail Manager is launched. Customers can learn more about SES Outbound and Mail Manager https://aws.amazon.com/ses/details/.

🆕 Amazon SES now offers Global Endpoints for multi-region sending resilience

#AWS #AmazonSes
Amazon SES now offers Global Endpoints for multi-region sending resilience
Today, Amazon Simple Email Services (SES) announces the availability of Global Endpoints, a feature for resilient sending through two commercial AWS Regions. Global Endpoints works with SES APIv2 and allows customers to choose a primary and secondary Region which accommodate email sending workloads in an equal split under normal circumstances. If either region suffers an impairment, traffic shifts away from the affected Region towards the other, ensuring that email sending continues. Unlike manual multi-region setups, Global Endpoints simplifies the synchronization of verified identities, approved sending limits, and configuration sets between the two chosen Regions. By working in a load-balanced manner, both Regions have active IP addresses ready for any customer email sending activity, and no manual effort is required to redistribute sending jobs during outages. Customers make use of a multi-region endpoint ID in place of an individual Region endpoint ID, without needing to make changes to their sending configurations. The feature also works with existing SES features, such as Dedicated IPs and Virtual Deliverability Manager. Global Endpoints is available across all commercial AWS Regions where SES sending is already available. A new blog describing the solution in detail is available here, and you can also click here for more information about Global Endpoints and to begin the simple, guided onboarding process for initial setup.

Amazon SES now supports IPv6 when calling SES outbound endpoints
Today, Amazon https://aws.amazon.com/ses/ (SES) launched support for connecting to SES outbound sending endpoints over IPv6. Customers can now specify their preference for IPv4 or IPv6 endpoints when using the AWS SDK or CLI. This makes it easy to switch from using IPv4 addresses to IPv6 addresses when communicating with the SES services for outbound sending. Previously, customers could use the AWS SDK or CLI to connect with SES endpoints for outbound sending. These connections always used IPv4 addresses when creating TCP/IP connections for communication with the SES service. Now customers can specify their preference for dual-stack using an environment variable or command line argument. The AWS SDK and CLI will use this information to specify the address type when connecting to the SES service API endpoint. SES supports IPv6 addresses when connecting to SES endpoints for outbound sending in all https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/ where SES is available. For more information, see the documentation on using https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sdkref/latest/guide/feature-endpoints.html with AWS services.

SES Mail Manager now supports full lifecycle logging
SES Mail Manager now offers end to end logging for ingress endpoints and rules engine actions. Customers have the ability to configure a wide range of monitoring options to the three standard logging destinations: CloudWatch, S3, and Firehose. Mail Manager by design interoperates with external systems on both incoming and outgoing email flows. Customers expect to use it to gain visibility on email volumes as well as to troubleshoot configuration problems at every step in the email delivery paths. These new logging features enable both ad hoc investigations and automated alarming via standard CloudWatch tooling, ensuring that the overall integrity of Mail Manager configurations can be tracked programmatically alongside other customer infrastructure. The logging features also help troubleshooting in the event of a configuration change on a connected system, reducing the support burden and enabling more customer self-service solutions. Mail Manager logging is available in every https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/where Mail Manager is launched. Customers can learn more about Mail Manager by clicking https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/dg/eb.html.

🆕 SES Mail Manager now offers Debug logging for traffic policies, detailing policy evaluations and actions via Cloudwatch, Kinesis, and S3. Available in all 17 non-opt-in AWS regions, it aids troubleshooting and ensures correct policy execution.

#AWS #AmazonSes
SES Mail Manager adds Debug Logging for traffic policies
Today, Simple Email Service (SES) Mail Manager announces the addition of a Debug logging level for Mail Manager traffic policies. This new logging level provides more detailed visibility on incoming connections to a customer’s Mail Manager ingress endpoint and makes it easier to troubleshoot delivery challenges quickly, using familiar event destinations such as Cloudwatch, Kinesis, and S3. With Debug level logs, customers can now log every possible evaluation and action within a Mail Manager traffic policy, along with envelope data for the email message being evaluated for traffic permission. This enables customers to determine whether their traffic policy is working as expected or to isolate incoming message parameters which are not covered by the current configuration. When used in conjunction with rules engine logging, debug logging for traffic policies charts a full picture of message arrival into Mail Manager and its disposition by the rules engine. Debug logging for traffic policies is intended to be used during active troubleshooting but otherwise left disabled, as its output can be verbose for high-volume Mail Manager instances. While SES does not charge an additional fee for this logging feature, customers may incur costs from their chosen event destination. Debug logging for traffic policies is available in all 17 AWS non-opt-in Regions within the AWS commercial partition. To learn more about Mail Manager logging options, see the SES Mail Manager Logging Guide.
