In 1978, the Japanese magazine Men's Club dedicated their February issue to Alaska, even visited here. One thing is clear. They were quite confused and/or intrigued by the branded caps. These examples from the Army Navy Surplus in Anchorage, now Big Ray's. #alaskahistory #alaska

1940 untitled oil on board painting by Theodore Lambert (1905-1960). He mushed and mined in Alaska before taking up painting. In 1960, he disappeared from his Bristol Bay cabin. No trace of him was ever found. Via Anchorage Museum #alaskahistory #alaska
