Decided that testing my Pi-Hole on the TV wasn't the best way, so I added my MacBook to it and went to Devon Live. A website infested with ads.
A little bit of tinkering with domains on the Pi-Hole admin page and Devon Live is now an ad-free experience.

So weit es geht, weg von #Google, Meta und Twitter, nutzt Adblocker oder Browser, die diese integriert haben und so auf @developers.google.com ihr Manifest 3 scheißen. Google wird erst verstehen, wenn es an ihren Geldbeutel geht. Alternativen gibt es, wir sind nur zu bequem, sie zu suchen.

Ok, Pi-Hole is up and running. I have SSH enabled and can log in to the admin portal. Live update of DNS requests is working. So all I need to do now is figure out what ads I want blocked and add them to my blocklist. Easy, right?

deren monetarisierungsmodell kann man mit ebenso kostenfrei erhältlichen adblocker-plugins für den kostenfreien browser Firefox ausser kraft setzen. aber das ist ja boring, weil es in der realität existiert und nicht für spekulatius taugt, mit dem man sich selber erhöhen möchte.

most common tool is using a good adblocker.
or a browser that eliminates ads.
you cant completely avoid ads but you can massively reduce them and also eliminate pop ups etc.
if you are using chrome, then you most likely get more ads than other browsers. i dont recommend using chrome.

FYI your website displays adblock warnings and traps browsers (iOS mobile firefox) from using their back buttons. There's no adblocker installed on this browser.

I did the same a few days ago, I had a Pi3 I got for $2 at an e-waste store and I figured it was worth a shot. Insane how much better it is than even the best adblocker plugins

I haven't surfed the web without an adblocker for at least 15 years. The other day I entered a site on my phone trying to figure out something while I was in Italy, and it is impossible to do anything. Everything is ads, everywhere. It is not surprising people use adblockers.
