Meet Tater Tot. He came to OR fr ASPCA in CA where infection cost him one eye. Sadly, the other also had to be removed by vets at CAT. Tater spent 8 weeks at our house recovering and adapting.

He’s the sweetest, bravest, smartest boy, and he now has a great home. #Caturday #kittens #BlindCats
A gorgeous 4 month old gold tabby kitten with a white front and white paws stands with his head raised as he listens to the sound of my voice telling him that I brought treats. His lost both his eyes to cataracts and infection when he was very young and has adapted brilliantly. We don’t know if he ever had much sight as his eyes had apparently been damaged for a long time. Normally, crowded and overwhelmed kill shelters would euthanize such a cat but he was rescued in time. The ASPC in LA did one surgery and CAT in OR did the other. He had excellent pain management and got lots of love and care at our place. He is playful, and courageous which tells me that beginning early on he was loved. He is super heathy otherwise so he probably had his mother’s milk, as well. It killed me not to keep him but he wouldn’t be safe indoors at our place because of the floor plan. His new family is taking great care of him and he is an indoor cat. He may someday get a catio. I hope so.
