Can't understand the people who don't smile or do frown. Not saying you should be happy to see me, but a courtesy smile should not be hard. Noticing this mostly with certain medical specialties. But almost never with a neurologist or an epileptologist. Wanna go back to #AES2024

Here are my highlights from the progress that we saw at #AES2024 for rare epilepsy syndromes:
1 - The future is now: tangible progress in disease-modification
2 - Beyond seizures in DEEs

Oldies but goodies - memories from #AES2021 as we’re all traveling to #AES2024. Leftovers from that other blue site that is now just an unpleasant shell of its former glorious self, but still contains relevant tidbits.
Can’t wait to catch up with everyone!

Day two was a blast! Today, learned a lot of centers are moving towards centromedian and pulvinar thalamic DBS and *RNS* implantation for various etiologies. It sounds like the neuromodulation is gaining even more popularity. #AES2024 @amepilepsysoc.bsky.social

Amazing talk by Dr. Sheryl Haut (who I’m proud to call my colleague and is our epilepsy division chief) on work-life balance and burnout. The task for all of us is how to set and hold to boundaries and finding how best to balance the various sectors of our life. #aes2024
