Last week I dropped on a rather old Maxell Type2 aka a XLII. I think it has to be 40 years old and it's perfect.
The XLII is as close to metal TypeIV as you'll ever get. It's sweet at -3dB to 0dB peaks.

Im using the Fo as the Cutoff frequency, and im getting 3.3k for my resistor value which seems right, but plugging it in my 3dB value is 68.8Hz?????

Your show will still sound quieter because it sounds will vary between -18 dB to -3 dB, while the commercial will compress all its audio to be -3db for the entire 30 seconds. So if you turn your show up when it got quiet, as soon as the commercial hits it'll be loud AF. ✊🏻

Bandcamp used to turn down the audio by 3dB on the website stream (no matter how loud the audio was mastered) and now they don't seem to do that so do with that information what you will.

Yaesu has a mind of its own when designing S meters. You only get -73 dBm at S9 when AMP1 is on, and it has a 3dB step by S point instead of the recommended 6dB by S point. Why don't they call it a dBm meter? Tested this all with a R&S RF generator on 20m

Found another one Resolve doesn't have: Silence Time Selection in Selected Clips! However, it DOES have a "Decrease by 3db" function I can map to a button and hold down to silence the selection. Not the most ideal, but it works!
I knew I was going to have some kind of trade-off going to DaVinci Resolve from Premiere, and I finally found it: There's no "Move Playhead to Cursor" command. That one STINGS, but I'll live.

Found another one Resolve doesn't have: Silence Time Selection in Selected Clips! However, it DOES have a "Decrease by 3db" function I can map to a button and hold down to silence the selection. Not the most ideal, but it works!
Try to leave 3dB headroom on your tracks and a little bus compression on grouped tracks (all guitars, all background vox, drums), and you'll have plenty of room to drive thi gs on your mix bus.
Or just blast the front-end until all hearing stops.
