##WorldAIDSDay
#WorldAIDSDay We’ve lost do many friends & relatives to AIDS. Today we remember their talent & beauty & kindness. I was honored to be Rock Hudson’s date to a Lifetime Achievement Award. A gracious & lovely gentleman. We’ve lost so many, but also made so much progress #BeKind #ReachOut 💔

I was diagnosed with #HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died of AIDS. I did not expect to live to 50.
I’m 58 now.
HIV treatment works.
Treatment also makes it impossible for me to pass HIV on during sex.
Ensure HIV treatment for all.
End HIV stigma.

This week, for the first time since 1988, the Trump Administration didn't recognize #WorldAIDSDay. I'm proud to lead the HIV Medication Act, which prevents this Administration’s ideological attacks on PEPFAR and resumes its full spectrum of services.

thank you to everyone who joined us in front of the White House today.

So many reasons to protest against this Administration's deadly and unlawful actions, fueling the #AIDS pandemic.

Grateful for the power of activism. #WorldAIDSDay #WAD2025 healthgap.org/press/world-...

Most days, but especially today, I marked the loss of my Uncle to AIDS in 1992. The world has changed dramatically for the better, but the fight continues against hate, bigotry, and those that would see a return to darker times.

Commemorating #WorldAIDSday is an act of defiance against ideology driven policies that will end our progress to end the epidemic.

Wade, Ed, Peter, Mark, Bob, and Michael, I am thinking of you today--remembering your talent and brilliance and wit and vitality. All of you should still be here. #WorldAIDSDay

This week, for the first time since the 1980s, the U.S. did not commemorate #WorldAIDSDay. That's simply wrong.

Now and always, I’ll honor the millions lost to HIV, and fight to restore funding for research, prevention & care—because #CutsKill and our communities deserve better.

Yesterday was #WorldAIDSDay. It's the first time since its inception in 1988 that the US has not formally recognized it.

On #WorldAIDSDay, we remember all those we've lost to HIV/AIDS and stand in solidarity with everyone living with HIV/AIDS.

Today and every day, we must continue to work to bring an end to this epidemic and end the harmful stigmas surrounding it.

For the first time since 1988 the U.S. government is not officially commemorating World AIDS Day. So, I'm posting a few photos from a 2015 exhibition at the Tacoma Art Museum. Hard to pick just one. Here is an Altar Piece by Keith Haring, his last before his death. #WorldAIDSDay

there’s a scene in the new documentary where Elizabeth Taylor is talking about the stigma of AIDS and how she got involved in the movement and it’s fucking everything

It’s #WorldAIDSDay - Did you know sanitation and barriers are industry standard in tattooing because Cliff Raven, a gay tattooer from Chicago, made sure he could still provide service to his own community as most shops refused to tattoo homosexuals when the AIDS crisis emerged?

Today is #WorldAIDSDay, and I’m thinking about the communities who fought to get us to this moment.

Thanks to PEPFAR, HIV treatment is more accessible and more people are living long, healthy lives.

Let’s keep fighting for a world where everyone can get the care they need.

Today December 1st is #WorldAIDSDay.
I remember the millions who have died.
I celebrate the transformative progress that has been made.
I resolve as an HIV researcher and advocate to keep up the fight to end the HIV epidemic.
Do you know you status?
Get tested. Get treated. Get on PrEP.

You've likely benefitted from HIV/AIDS research even if you're not living with or at risk for HIV. AIDS activists led the way in urging faster drug approval & spurring patient & community input & participation. @fredhutch.org #WorldAIDSDay

You may not realize you’ve benefited from HIV research. But if you’ve received a treatment that was approved through a recent clinical trial, received a CAR T cell for your cancer, or even just taken ...

When we commemorate #WorldAIDSDay today, in the face of the silence of our government, we think of those who have passed, those living with HIV, and the families and communities impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic — an epidemic worsened by devastating cuts to our healthcare and science.

Imagine if Regan had stayed an actor. Imagine if AIDS had been handled like a major public health emergency instead of disregarded as “gay cancer.” Imagine how many people could still be alive. Now imagine how many of them might be in public office.
