Segundo alcalde del PSOE que rechaza acoger a menores no acompañados procedentes de Canarias en menos de una semana. Pese a que el Gobierno socialista de Pedro Sánchez, que coordina los trabajos para el reparto de estos niños por la Península, lleva meses cargando contra todas las administraciones autonómicas gobernadas por el PP ante su rechazo a asumir las cifras de la acogida impuestas por Moncloa. Según el concejal su decisión se sostiene en la voluntad de «evitar fracturas sociales y actuar con responsabilidad institucional en un asunto sensible». Todo al mismo tiempo que Vox ha doblado su representación en Aragón, en gran parte con el rechazo a la inmigración como bandera.
