Rodri, Aitana Bonmatí, Álvaro Martín and María Pérez receive the National Sports Awards
Footballers Rodrigo Hernández and Aitana Bonmatí, internationals for Spain, and race walkers Álvaro Martín and María Pérez, received this Wednesday the National Sports Awards for 2023 and 2024, respectively, in a ceremony presided over by the King and Queen at the Royal Palace of El Pardo and by the Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Milagros Tolón. The Spanish international who plays for Manchester City won in 2023 the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup, and conquered with the Spanish national team the Nations League, titles that earned him a nomination for the Ballon d'Or, which he won a year later. His father, Antonio Hernández, received the award on his behalf. For her part, the FC Barcelona player established herself in 2023 as an indisputable international figure by winning the World Cup with the national team. With Barça she added to her palmarés the Champions League, the Liga F and the Copa de la Reina, in addition to achieving that same year the World Cup.
