Rillaar driver gets suspended sentence
A Leuven police court convicted a 34-year-old man of involvement in the November 2024 Rillaar hit-and-run that killed local figure Fons van Vlasselaer and gave him an 18-month suspended sentence.
Belgium launches paid military service
Belgium sent letters to about 150,000 17-year-olds inviting them to a voluntary one-year military service paying €2,000 a month, to begin September 2026.
