"It has become a feature of modern life – millions of phones simultaneously buzz or sound the alarm as users are notified of breaking news deemed too important to miss."

We must hang out in very different circles.

I remember spending a very frustrated 30 minutes or so working out how to turn it off on my mum's OnePlus phone. Seemed almost like it was intentionally hard to turn off.

Doesn't the ruling (at most) give organisations the *right*, but not the obligation, to insist that trans women use the men's bathroom? So why is a minister saying that trans women must do this when it's just not what the law says?? (I may have misunderstood the EA and the recent ruling)

Oh cool. Roughly where did you find it? I found one in southeastern England last year — they're pretty rare here.

Depends what kind of data. Data generated in the app, such as what ads you look at, what your interests are, etc is valuable and not covered by those permissions. May not be "stealing" as such, but if an average user doesn't know it's being collected, it's pretty sneaky at the very least.

It was surprisingly hard to even find this out! DRLs are disabled when parking brake is set, so I had to record a video of me driving forwards and backwards with various light settings. (Ok, I probably could have RTFM, but let's not get too silly here.)
